Creating a usable sign up sheet is very easy. As this video shows, there are 3 main steps:
- Give the sheet a title
- Create categories (column headings) for the sheet
- Add items to each category

A few clarifications:
If you need several people to volunteer for a role or committee, do the following:
- Create a category that summarizes the role. For example, “Fund Raising Committee.”
- Add items to the category so that people are able to sign up.
They can be simple with everyone serving the same role:
“Member 1”
“Member 2”
“Member 3”
Or the roles can be more detailed:
“Committee Chair”
“Committee Co-Chair”
“Assistant 1”
The important part is that you create at least one category and then list items for which people can sign up. Remember – keep it simple. That’s why you’re using online sign up sheets to begin with.
