We recently added registration forms to TimeToSignUp.com. So should you use a sign up sheet or a registration form?
We get a lot of traffic to our sign up sheets, and people try to use them as registration forms. In some cases, they make a column for name, a column for phone number, a column for email address, etc. Unfortunately that’s not the way the sign up sheets work. The sign up sheets are for selecting an item, then entering your info to “claim” that item. Many people tried to make the sign up sheet work as a registration form, got frustrated, then quit.
To help our customers, we now have registration forms available on TimeToSignUp.com. Imagine you’re having a workshop. Everyone is attending that event. Instead of using a sign up sheet where people will pick and choose certain items, use a registration form. With the registration forms, you can specify how many people can register for the event. You can collect first name, last name, email address and 15 other fields that you specify. You and the registrant will receive confirmation email. And just like our sign up sheets, your first registration form is free.

I am a Kiwanis member and want to volunteer for the Christmas in july. Coral Springs Kiwanis Club

Kerri,
To volunteer on a specific sign up sheet, you need to go to the account that is hosting the sign up sheet/registration form. For security purposes, we do not give them out to people; the account info must be given to you by the person who created the sign up sheet/registration form. It will be in the form http://www.timetosignup.com/accountname.

greetings,
I am trying to set up a volunteer list for a track meet invitational our high school is hosting this spring.
i will need criteria such as name and contact information ( phone and email only) as well as what event and time the individual can assist.
I am thinking the registration form would be more appropriate for my needs but ask your insight as I am a nube to your sight
Please advise,
Doris

Doris,
Regarding your question about using a registration form vs. a sign up sheet, I think a sign up sheet will be better for you.
If I’m interpreting your comment correctly, you’ll be able to create a sign up sheet and have each column be an event. Then you can list the times in each column. For example, column 1 might be Long Jump. In the column, you can have times such as 10 – 11, 11 – noon, noon – 1, etc so that volunteers can sign up for the appropriate times.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or need help getting the sign up sheet set up.
Thanks for using TimeToSignUp.

I created a registration form and requested fields are requiring me to enter a value. I do not understand exactly what they want.
Andrew says
You can choose if a field on the registration form is optional (the
person can enter data or skip it), required (the person MUST enter something in the field) or hidden (the field isn’t displayed at all).
I see on your registration form that some fields are required: first name, last name, and address. The website will expect that all participants will enter information for those 3 fields. For the other fields (not marked required), the website will allow the participant to leave those fields blank.
I hope this answers your question. If not, please let me know.
Thank you for using TimeToSignUp.
